Iceland Air (Shot by Sean Bagley)
Icelandair is one of the spots I'm most proud of. To me it feels like a movie, not like a commercial, which is something I'm always trying to achieve. I meet the directors Samuel & Gunnar on a shoot in Los Angeles and they were trusting enough to bring me out to Iceland to do this project with them for the Women's EuroCup. This felt like a big break for me because I wanted to do more sports ads and more narrative driven ads. Shooting in any foreign country can be a challenge because of language barriers and different methods of execution. However, Iceland was a great treat because everyone speaks english and their crews are top notch, basically everyone had just done Game of Thrones or Star Wars. Samuel & Gunnar are always very well prepared, and you have to do your best to match their level of expertise. Fortunately the story, and concept made it easy to really sink your teeth into this project and get behind its message. This is one of those few projects that you can be really proud of because it feels like everyone was on the same page and was aspiring for the same goal. Shot on Alexa Mini with Cooke Anamorphics + Phantom Flex with Zeiss Ultra Primes.
