Nike (Shot by Sean Bagley)

This spot was thrown together very quickly because Nike needed a "win-ad" for the Warriors and they were already up 3-1 in the finals. The idea of the commercial was to show the rich spirit of the fans in Oakland, their roots, their diversity, and their connection to the players. A simple enough concept with both real people in Oakland, and a few actors we placed. For me the only major challenge on this project was trying to match the immense talent of director Greg Hunt who is a great cinematographer and photographer in his own right. Thankfully we worked well together, and came up with some great images. Unfortunately, especially if you're a Warriors fan, this happened to be the one year (2016) the Cavaliers came back to win the championship so the ad didn't run. However, it has worked great as a reel piece for a couple of years now. We shot this on two Alexa Minis with Zeiss Super Speeds, still one of my favorite combinations.
