Tatuapé Mahal Tower

The life story and existential drama of Javier Juarez Garcia, an Argentinian scale model figure who decided to live in São Paulo to work in the city's many real estate scale models. After a betrayal, he decides to change his life and travel around the world. But he never forgets about his real goal: to come back and take revenge from the ones who disappointed him.

About the Artists

Carolina Markowicz is a screenwriter and director based in São Paulo- Brazil. Her numerous shorts have been featured in film festivals around the world including TIFF and SXSW. Her most recent short, “The Orphan”, premiered at the Director’s Fortnight - Cannes - 2018, and won the Queer Palm. It was also selected to Locarno, TIFF 2018, AFI, and has been collecting many awards worldwide.

Filmmaker and also a production designer and graphic art director, Fernanda Salloum's work is above all, aesthetic oriented. The animated short Tatuapé Mahal Tower is her debut as a director in fiction. As a production designer her work consists on the study of the light as a scene element. She has also directed many commercials and is currently teaching cinema Studies at Miami Ad School.
